I have been fascinated with taking pictures since I took a photography class in third grade. Over the years, I have been the one capturing all of the memories for our family at birthdays, holidays, and family trips. I played sports growing up through high school—soccer and ice hockey. While I have photos of these athletic events in my life, they are "mom and dad" quality photos. Looking back, it would have been wonderful to have a professional action photo as a keepsake.
As I grew up, I continued my love of taking photographs, and finally decided to follow my passion for photography and launch Matt Dewkett Photography. I started out covering local high school sports through MaxPreps. Today I continue to cover Connecticut high school sports for MaxPreps, and I have expanded my coverage into NCAA Hockey—with my work appearing on sites such as USCHO, College Hockey News, and SB Nation College Hockey. I have covered events such as Prep School Hockey at Yankee Stadium, Frozen Fenway, the Hobey Baker Award Ceremony, and the Men's and Women's NCAA Ice Hockey National Championships. While I love a great action shot, my favorite part of photography is capturing the emotions of the players as they do battle.
Thanks for stopping by!
Matt
